Joan asked the following question:
When I’m grilling, or frying in a pan, I’ve always wondered if I need to wash my cooking utensils after touching the food, or if it’s safe to wait until I’m done cooking? I’ve noticed that cooks in restaurants don’t wash their utensils while cooking at all. I don’t want to be OCD so what’s your opinion? What is safe?

You don’t need to wash the spatula until after you are all done cooking with it. Of course, then you definitely want to wash it.

Just read it all and it explains you should keep two spatulas- one that has touched the raw meat and one to pick it up when it’s cooked and to flip it.

you have to wash it before you cook something and after your done cooking. that way you won’t eat sick or get germs.
